Entering its ninth anniversary, Unisi Hotel Malioboro held a series of meaningful and socially conscious anniversary activities, embracing the theme “Nine Years, One Comfort.” This theme reflects Unisi Hotel Malioboro’s passion and consistency in providing comfort to guests while strengthening its contribution to the community.
The anniversary activities took place in three main series throughout September, involving employees, management, the UII Waqf Foundation, and partners who have supported the hotel’s growth and existence.
As a form of concern for the surrounding community, on September 16, 2025, Unisi Hotel Malioboro held a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program by distributing food packages to pedicab drivers around the hotel. This was done to appreciate and support their role in supporting tourism and mobility in the Malioboro tourist area. Furthermore, Unisi Hotel Malioboro also repainted its pedicabs to make them more attractive.
As a token of gratitude for its nine-year journey, Unisi Hotel Malioboro held a Thanksgiving and Religious Study program to commemorate its anniversary. The event featured Ustadz H. Saijan, S.Ag, M.S.I., as the main speaker, who delivered a sermon on the importance of blessings, collaboration, and integrity in building an institution that benefits society.
The Thanksgiving event was also attended by leaders from the Islamic University of Indonesia Waqf Foundation (YBW UII), the hotel’s owner, and the Commissioners, Directors, and Sharia Supervisory Board (DPS) of PT. Unisia Kreasi Sejahtera. The event was opened by Drs. Zulian Yamit, M.Si., Head of Business Development at YBW UII. In his remarks, Drs. Zulian Yamit, M.Si., reflected on the hotel’s journey and expressed his appreciation to all employees and management for their achievements, as well as expressed his hopes for even greater growth in the future. The atmosphere of the event was solemn and full of togetherness, reflecting the Islamic values that underlie the management of sharia-compliant hotels.
Mr. Dedi R. Yusma, Director of PT Unisia Kreasi Sejahtera, stated that “Unisi Hotel Malioboro has the perceived value of being the first sharia-compliant hotel in Yogyakarta to be certified by the National Sharia Council (DSN) of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI). This is believed to increase competitiveness and guest trust in Unisi Hotel Malioboro.
At the culmination of the anniversary, a gathering was held, attended by corporations, travel agents, government agencies, online travel agents (OTAs), and other parties who have collaborated with the hotel. This event served as a crucial opportunity to strengthen the relationship between Unisi Hotel Malioboro and its business partners. During the event, hotel management presented special awards in the form of the Top 3 Production Company Award, given to the three companies with the largest and most consistent production contributions, supporting the hotel’s occupancy rate and operational performance over the past year. This year, Ekola Tour was named the Top 1 Production, Smile Group the Top 2 Production, and OXY Media the Top 3 Production at Unisi Hotel Malioboro. These awards served not only as a token of appreciation but also as motivation to continue forging stronger and more productive synergies between the hotel and its partners.
The gathering was also attended by Mr. Satria Akbar S.E., a representative of the Yogyakarta Special Region Tourism Office. In his remarks, Satria Akbar S.E. expressed his support and appreciation for Unisi Hotel Malioboro as a driving force behind Muslim-friendly tourism in Yogyakarta.
